The Power of Play: Options For All Film & Media Studio, Magical Bridge Foundation and Aim Higher Premiere ‘Building the Bridge’ – The Magical Bridge Playground Documentary

Sunnyvale, CA  September 12, 2019 — Options For All Film and Media Studio in Sunnyvale in partnership with Joey Travolta and Inclusion Films announces the release of “Building the Bridge,” a documentary on the realization of the Magical Bridge Playground in Palo Alto, California. Heralded as the nation’s most innovative and inclusive playground, Magical Bridge welcomes visitors of all abilities to the playground. In collaboration with the Magical Bridge Foundation and Aim Higher, the film is the first project for the newly launched Options For All Film & Media Studio. Options For All is a hands-on vocational service which trains and teaches individuals with developmental disabilities to become filmmakers and pursue employment in the film and multimedia industry. Through the lens of disabled filmmakers, the film documents the power of play at Magical Bridge Playground in Palo Alto and how it ignites the community to become kinder, inclusive and welcoming of everyone.

Building the Bridge captures the exquisite moments of joy that everyone who visits Magical Bridge Playground experiences,” said Magical Bridge Executive Director Jill Asher. “We are extremely grateful to share our journey to create Magical Bridge Playgrounds and highlight the profound impact Magical Bridge has on visitors of all ages, abilities and disabilities.”

The Magical Bridge Foundation designs and builds innovative and truly inclusive playgrounds where all children, families and community members feel welcome to come and play together, regardless of age, size or ability. With over 25,000 visitors per month visiting their flagship playground in Palo Alto, California, Magical Bridge uniquely welcomes the 1-in-4 of us living with physical and cognitive disabilities, autism, those with visual and auditory impairments, the aging population, and the medically fragile. Magical Bridge Foundation is currently working on playground projects in Redwood City, Sunnyvale, Morgan Hill and Mountain View. The Foundation will announce additional projects throughout the Bay Area and the nation in late 2019.

“Opening doors for people with disabilities is our main goal,” said David Drazenovich, Interim CEO at Options For All. “With each new relationship, each new opportunity, each new venture, we are closer to our dream of creating universal social equality for everyone.”

The Options For All team partnered with participants of Aim Higher, an organization that also provides services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, to interview individuals about their personal experiences at the playground and tell their story. Stories have the power to influence, teach and inspire. Options For All is excited to use their Film & Media Studio to enrich the lives of people they serve and forge connections between people and ideas.
