Join LightHouse for the Blind - San Francisco Bay Area as they highlight diversity with a special viewing party for the online world release of, “Birthing, Dying, Becoming Crip Wisdom” a Sins Invalid production. Sins Invalid is a disability justice production, celebrating the power of embodiment and sexuality, stripping taboos off disability in order to offer a vision of beauty that includes all bodies and communities.

Sins Invalid is a disability justice production, celebrating the power of embodiment and sexuality, stripping taboos off disability in order to offer a vision of beauty that includes all bodies and communities.

In, “Birthing, Dying, Becoming Crip Wisdom” a filmed version of the live performance, thirteen performers bring evocative explorations of creation, aging, and mortality, a journey through genesis, transformative power and earth. The viewing party will be followed by a group discussion, offering a safe space for community members to reflect on the various performances, discuss and share their own experiences living with a disability. The community discussion will be led by Laura Millar, the Sexual Health Services Program Coordinator and Serena Olsen the Evening and Weekend Program Coordinator. We will discuss topics related to gender, sexual orientation, race, class, and aging specifically for people who are blind or have low vision and the impact of these intersecting identities on our lives.

Magical Bridge

Friends of Magical Bridge,

We have two separate opportunities to volunteer with Magical Bridge and support the local community!

Event 1: Saturday, May 6th

We are looking for 5 volunteers to help with check-in for the Superfest Disability Film Festival on Saturday, May 6th. We need help checking in 150+ movie goers, provide additional assistance with anyone who needs extra help getting to their seats, and help welcome people as they arrive.

We'll need to have you arrive at the Veteran's Center at 1pm to help with hanging signage and light set up -- at 1:30pm, we will begin checking in movie goers. Superfest starts at 2:00pm.

This is a SOLD OUT event.
